Diarrhea then Constipation?
Many times there are gastrointestinal problems stated as being constipation to diarrhea for the same person. You will see this in the group of CFS, CFIDS, FM, ME. It is most probably an autoimmune issue that elevates to a cessation of the bowels functioning: the intestines, large/small.

Diarrhea is what exposure to the chemical that causes these would often look like. Gulf war syndrome vets complain about this and the other issues of CFIDS.
People do not like to talk about their bowel habits, however, it can be a clue to serious chemical exposure and .... an advance autoimmune issue such as the gut or intestines binding up ... halting in function.

i seem to swing between bouts of diarrhea and constipation, does anyone else have this issue? I spoke to the surgeon about it and he thinks its not from the band! I never had this problem before

I think I know what would cause diarrhea (Exposure to 2-butoxyethanol) it is an autoimmune causing chemical that should be suspect for an advance issues such as constipation ... but not generic constipation, LOCKED BOWEL syndrome.  When the gut is bound up like this ... it is because it has stopped working. 

 
Learn about 2-butoxyethanol aka ethylene glycol monobutyl ether.  I have heard that those with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's have trouble with constipation.  Maybe they are both autoimmune issues. (EGBE also has serious short term memory loss as a central nervous system aspect of it).
 
I call too much exposure to this chemical as "civilian gulf war syndrome" aka CFIDS.

That's more than just constipation ... can elevate to an autoimmune issue in which the intestines lock up and cease to function.

An AUTOIMMUNE issue ... I would take some glyconutrients
&/or prune juice with no solid food for 24 hours
 
Someone in my family had some of this in January ... & again now
 
In some way, he must have been exposed to the chemical again ... while working on toilet in a rental unit
 
If not in any products he used there, then from new renters as they are around people who can be exposed ... & pass it on to others or other places they go
 
Or Renter has used a cleaning product that is toxic (?) and left in the place
 
 
I remember the crazy man he sat across the aisle from in January when on a short airplane ride.  His gut was bound up 2 days then .... Locked Bowel (another discuss forum)

another man I know of ... symptoms were so severe he had gall bladder surgery, he had near failure of kidney and liver, had digestion system stop.  The docs removed his intestines and gave him a bag & now a psychiatric trauma
