Says the EPA / CA joint janitorial study:

"Glycol alkyl ethers are commonly used as solvents. 2-Butoxy Ethanol is one of the most toxic of the glycol ethers."

"You should use products containing butoxyethanol with extreme care. It is a poison that can easily absorb through your skin to harm you. When working with it, always wear gloves and goggles and be sure the you have enough ventilation. More probably exposure is vapors in one's eyes ... but NOT ingestion as is suspected by some MSDSs

These are the same warnings you see on Clean Shower Material Safety Data Sheet ... but only if you call and ask for a written copy of it and wait 10 days ... and then STILL not on the container ... and STILL no list of ingredients

MSDS received by mail: Clean Shower MSDS p1-3  pdf  p 4 No ingredients considered harmful, so none disclosed ... but look at warnings for use p2, #8

Wouldn't it seem that there is a chemical that should be disclosed here?

And that these 'how to use' instructions should be on the product or easily available?

EPA lifted all restrictions on use of 2-butoxyethanol in 2003
when this chemical is released into the air ... it will break down as CO2 per an MSDS I looked at;
so wouldn't this add to global warming?

Hasn't this been when the rapid acceleration of global warming started?

Fewer and fewer honey bees to pollinate our crops in California, too,
after DOW chemical was putting out a new pesticide for crops

Hi again Diann.  Some of my animal rescue friends were happy to get this information and also want to know if you happen to have a list of any other products for animals or people that have that stuff in it.  Nell

Note above warnings & comments by EPA & CA joint janitorial study.
Protect Yourself From Future Harm - Learn what Products YOU use that contain it

Check for what products contain 2-butoxyethanol  such as
(CAS Registry Number: 000111-76-2)
in the Household Products Data Base
http://hpd.nlm.nih.gov/ingredients.htm

5% concentration is not safe for home use, per one expert in product development.

Also check for the complex version Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether or 2-2-butoxyethanol

(CAS Registry Number: 000112-34-5)

Last link on this page http://www.valdezhousing.com/re/health/neednewdisclosurelaws.htm#a shows why I suspect Crohn's Disease, IBS, etc are caused by too much exposure to this chemical

the encyclopedia said there is autoimmune hemolytic anemia present, elevated body temp (fever), more prominent among those who clean more. . .

Autoimmune Hypothalamus caused by BUTYL - Can show up as abnormal Temperature, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar

Looks like Crohn's Disease is something this chemical exposure could cause  *

The worst pesticide

EPA has studied Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether *

Among the 101 EPA tested pesticides - for endocrine disruption, these:

112-34-5 Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether
111-76-2    Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether

C8H18O3 / CH2(CH2)3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OHDG

An unexpected side effect of the hard to find anemia, AIHA or IMHA is high white blood cell counts (not an infection) ... this can lead to other issues that are autoimmune issues, not what has been suspected in the past:

Periodontal Disease - Autoimmune!

Degenerative Disk Disease - Autoimmune !  *

"I'm convinced that metabolic features (changes in cholesterol and lipid profile, changes in glucose uptake and cell use, mitochondrial diseases and so on) are among main underestimated issue of 2-BE," says a French journalist

How does our body 'complain' about too much of a chemical exposure?  *

The chills you are describing, mary v parker, is an advance anemia sign. For the autoimmune issues 2-butoxyethanol causes (undisclosed in many home cleaning products) ... which is also a pesticide ... can also cause the very irritable over nothing personality change, memory loss, etc.. NO doctors for the most part do not figure out this anemia because with 'all the things going on wrong at once' it hides out. Also there are erroneous views today in medical science: very high white blood cell counts is an anemia sign for those with the advance fatigue of autoimmune hemolytic anemia. http://www.valdezhousing.com/re/health/2-butoxyethanol.htm Why can' the USA Govt find the real cause of gulf war syndrome after over 300 million in studies? Because companies hide this chemical in the many products it is in. Ashley has documented some of these exposures for her father, most probably, without realizing it.
