Don't Stockpile Corexit in Cordova !

... says a Cordova resident, "Apparently the Corexit storage facility is going to be built in VALDEZ.  Since Cordova protested. You may want to check on this!"

"...the Native Village of Eyak rep said Alyeska gave up on Cordova because of too much protest. So Alyeska was looking at Valdez instead. Wouldn't the city of Valdez have to approve something like this?"

We must take a stand against the stockpiling of the Corexit ... as it doesn't stay in it's barrels & innocent people will be harmed ... that's my opinion & it has merit

Find all barrels & label as POISON

But wear PPE level IV & goggles for sure!

Air tight eye goggles, such as swimming goggles are the most important part of Personal Protective Equipment

It does no good to add poison to the oil & push it down into the water column for the fish to run into.  I suspect it for the demise of the 1993 herring run.  valdezlink.com/inipol/no .htm

EPA just gave me this comment:

"I refer you to the National Academies of Sciences report on dispersants in which Exxon admits that there were health issues with using 2-butlyoxyethnol at the Valdez spill.  You can read for free at their website."

(That's got to be a first!)

If Exxon admitted the harm of 2-butoxyethanol, it must have only been on the Inipol EAP 22, the bioremediation product used on beaches.  I hear that this is no longer allowed. (12% 2-butoxyethanol)

So, why is the Corexit with is 38% 2-butoxyethanol still used at all or thought to be OK?

We are a chemically poisoned people ... I suspect that

2-butoxyethanol is causing much cancer and birth defects

Wonder what fishermen wash their boats with?  Some say Lysol tub 'n Tile, or Simple Green or Joy ... bet you'd find some n-butyl ethers in some of these

I was visiting with the fisherman next door (27' boat) and he was about 6 feet away.  We were talking outside, and would you believe, I had some bad diarrhea within 5 minutes?  I'm going to ask what he's been doing lately, and what he uses to wash his boat down with.  If it is Lysol Tub 'n Tile or 409 cleaner ... then I got some 2nd hand exposure to it.  Now, his wife is recovering from breast cancer, and I suspect some of the tumors that are breast cancer could be from this chemical, too, but the research I saw, didn't want to comment ... just said "other maternal effects"

He did tell me that

Cordova does not want Corexit stockpiled there

for future use in oil spills

... but what can they do?    You know, Corexit was invented by Exxon in July, 1989 & later sold to Dept of Defense.  I bet it was part of the cause of 'gulf war syndrome'  At 130 degree temp & sitting around in the Arms Room, all a soldier would have to do is walk in there & get the fumes in his eyes

C6H14O2/CH3(CH2)2CH2OCH2CH2OH

or

C8H18O3 / CH2(CH2)3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH

How do these compare?
