Have lab check red blood cells under a microscope if counts are borderline normal:

4.7 or less -for Men 

  4.0 or less -for women

Or if  your blood counts are lower than normal for YOU

In addition to blood counts, other factors are considered, too

Share this with your current doctor - 

or a doctor who will consult with toxicology experts

should you have concern about chemical overexposures

The information on oil and on the chemicals used during the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill 

Indicate that aplastic anemia is likely 

from the oil... 

and that hemolytic anemia is likely 

from the 2-butoxyethanol in 

Inipol EAP 22 (bioremediation experimental chemical) 

and Corexit (experimental chemical).  

Maybe it's possible to have both?

If you do have one or the other, you could have had it all this time, since your 1989 work; 

if the blood counts are questionable, ask your doctor to check for these.

If you develop other complications, it is likely to be in addition to the anemia, not instead of.
