STATEMENT REGARDING SENATOR ARLEN SPECTER
Senator Arlen Specter today announced that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease. Hodgkin’s disease is a cancer of the lymph system. Approximately 7500 new cases are diagnosed every year in the United States.

Senator Specter had experienced persistent fevers and enlarged lymph nodes under his left arm and above his left clavicle. He received testing on February 14th at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. The testing involved biopsy of a lymph node and biopsy of bone marrow. The lymph node was positive for Hodgkin’s disease. The bone marrow biopsy showed no cancer. A follow up PET scan and MRI at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania on February 16th established that Senator Specter has stage IVB Hodgkin’s disease.

Senator Specter is expected to receive ABVD chemotherapy every two weeks over the next 24 to 32 weeks at the Abramson Cancer Center.

It is expected that Senator Specter will be able to perform all duties of his office including those related to the chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee.

Senator Specter’s oncologist, John H. Glick, M.D., said: “Senator Specter has an excellent chance of being completely cured of his Hodgkin’s disease. Senator Specter’s Hodgkin’s disease has a five-year survival rate of 70%. He is in superb physical condition, particularly in light of his daily squash regimen.” Dr. Glick is Professor of Medicine at Penn and a nationally renowned expert in Hodgkin’s disease.

Stage IV of anything is pretty serious, isn't it?

What is stage IVB?

Non hodgkin's lymphoma is what I would suspect of 2-butoxyethanol as a for sure (4 workers of oil spill came across a beach sprayed with 2-butoxyethanol and all 4 of them died of NHL)

You know Margaret,

The senator should look into glyconutrients treatment with his chemo. It helps decrease the side effects of chem and makes it tolerated better. I have had patients referred that only wanted glyconutritional therapy for cancer but if they want both, that is good too. It can only help and will not hurt. There is a lot of research out there for this too.

I have heard that there are already a few Senators that understand glyconutrition already.

Dr. Garrett

That's what I'm hinting at  I think these people (such as I e-mailed at the Philly paper would have access to Senator Specter.  I have tried to contact him, but have not made contact.
I tried to contact Senator Clinton when I heard that she and her whole staff had come down with 'flu-like symptoms' in January this year.

So whether you believe as I do, or not ...

Sounds like glyconutrients could be helpful.

Thanks for sharing what some results are with Dr. Lea Steele.  She has been working with the Gulf war vets and....

I must comment that I see autism as one of the birth defects for Vietnam vets & for an EVOS worker.  I suspect that 2-butoxyethanol exposure would cause such.  I believe many in WWII (now the peer group of my dad who was a man in his early 30's then) were exposed to it in the rocket propellants of Navy ship guns and land fights that used missiles (such as last 2 weeks when 5 times the explosives of an Atom bomb were cumulatively sprayed over our allied troops)
