Why is the United States so Backward?
The World Health Organization knows what cancers occur with overexposure to 2-butoxyethanol
...and even that the children
of these are more at risk for Leukemia and Tumors in the Brain *
Why does the information on 2-butoxyethanol C6H14O2/CH3(CH2)2CH2OCH2CH2OH
say....
"Hmm, We don't know about
Cancer...Hasn't been tested for" *
Well.... just suppose that the United States doesn't want to know. *
(Is industry lobbying against it? Sure makes good paint & good cleaning products, right?) They could follow the health of the workers with Inipol EAP 22 and Corexit from the 1989 - 1991 & 1997 cleanup of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill and learn a lot... Oh, and don't forget the housewives that will be showing up with the same health damage at about retirement age from using the household cleaning products regularly: such as Lysol Tub 'n Tile * Do you think EPA might give widespread approval for Corexit which is 38% 2-butoxyethanol & maybe worse?
(They don't tell us what's in it) ![]()
Are doctors willing to consider chemical poisoning as a cause of health damage?
... If they don't know, why not consult with experts in chemical overexposures
instead of saying "Oh, these people weren't damaged from the oil or the chemicals,
either, of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup." Say, get
another doctor... even if you have to fly to Texas
Did you know that 3 years ago a supervisor in a fish processing plant in Valdez
noticed that 2 days of exposure to the aromatic fish oils caused asthma in
workers? (200 workers... & all the clinic prescribed was cold medicine?) Has
this always been the case?
Or just since Exxon has been testing chemicals with 2-butoxyethanol and ethylene oxide in our ocean? *
Or was it the cleaning products they were cleaning with?
Something needs checking into here. For sure it wasn't the workers. It was the work environment.
At this rate we don't need any terrorists to 'do us in'
Maybe we're letting BIG BUSINESS harm us and future generations to come!

What was really wrong with the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Cleanup http://www.valdezlink.com/corexit/pages/wrong.htm
We need to know what is in Corexit!
If it can't be used without harming people, then it shouldn't be used
... regardless of
expected effectiveness
Workers, Transporters of the Chemical, those who monitor must have Only PPE
Level IV
.... not Class B Protective

& that goes for home-makers who regularly use Lysol Tub 'n Tile, too
