HORRIBLE Headaches

even children?     -   CFS Friendly Version

I am talking about the abnormal, worse than a migraine, type of headache from 2-butoxyethanol. Is it a pituitary headache?

Here are some examples from the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers:

1-The headaches an EVOS 'bioremediation' worker has are very frequent in last several years... at the back of the head and it runs down his neck. *

2-Another young native woman who only delivered supplies and lunches to the beach workers has severely debilitating headaches: She has to be in a dark, quiet room for days - the pain is so severe. Being a mother of 2 little boys, and trying to work, too, that makes it quite difficult for her. They went away for awhile, but are back again she told me April, 2004. She said she also notices short term memory loss which makes counting change at the bank were she works ... difficult to say the least. She has good medical coverage, being a Native in Alaska, and her doctors have given her a year's prescription of very, very strong pain medication. (Sadly this could harm her more.)

3- Slim's headaches: "Ever since 1990 I have had headaches and they are getting worse and worse. It is a deep hurt - I can't describe it - at the back of the head, sometimes down my neck and across my shoulders; also in my eyes (I'm legally blind now). I can feel it 'thump' thump' It is really miserable." Heart beats very rapidly, too.

I have found similarly described headaches among those of the Gulf War I vets:

1-An August, 2002 comment by a GWS vet: "I still have these piercing headaches, feels like burning, shocks....something like that... all I know, it's not a normal headache."

2-An August 24, 2002 military comment: "Hey everyone! I'm curious. Many of us talk about having headaches. But, I haven't found anyone yet that described the type of headaches I have. Mine are not like a normal headache. They feel like piercing, sharp, burning in spots. That's the best I can describe. Sometimes I get the pounding hurt really bad type, but for the most part they're very different from anything I ever had before. Anybody out there experiencing the same thing? Sometimes I don't know whether to believe if it is all gulf related or if there may be a damaged nerve thing going on. I do experience a lot of other symptoms, muscle & joint pain, rashes, GERD (acid reflux), tremors, and tired all the darn time. but, these headaches are like the worst. Anybody out there with the same type of headaches? stationed in Riyadh, Saudi.

3-C Puller's headaches, "I served in swa with the Marine Corps from jan91-june91. after returning to the states, I had a few very severe migraine headaches that brought me to my knees. The headaches went away and I then started to have heart palpitations with a very high heart rate. * I was placed in the hospital once for one week with the doctors being unable to explain why I was having the palpitations. I was recently given beta-blockers in a attempt to control it."

4- Chad's Headache
"I had a bothersome pain in the back of my head behind my left ear. Almost all the in the back of my head. It became severe and my balance has gotten much worse, my memory was bad since the storm, but now is absolutely terrible day to day, and I can't focus on anything. Seems like all of my symptoms are multiplied by 10 since this has happened."

It is true that the gulf war vets were exposed to 2-butoxyethanol and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether.

Some helps

What are signs of chemical overexposure in the first place?

All harmed by 2-butoxyethanol family of chemicals should have too many immature red blood cells. This is the fatigue.

I am now looking for input from the CFS groups,
as I believe they have similar harm - that their fatigue may be the same type
... and that it is findable:

Red blood cells being prematurely destroyed ... resulting in too many IMMATURE red blood cells is a type of fatigue that has been fooling our country for over 50 years. It can be found with a retic ratio - 2.5 days after exposure, and any time thereafter. It is the identifying mark of 2-butoxyethanol's harm Plus a lot of other odd symptoms such as
