The four hours of training in hazardous materials did not cover this new product which came out while men were working on site; did workers even see this information?

Inipol EAP22

Material Safety Data Sheet - MSDS -  that came out 7-28-89

States the following as to health risks:

Warning!

Material may be absorbed through the skin

Prolonged and repeated exposure may cause
eye and skin irritation and may cause
blood and kidney damage

VECO should volunteer names of its workers at that time & seek them out to see how they are doing now, since they took regular blood and urine samples during their work.  Don't they care what the long term effects are?

Or next time there is an oil spill somewhere will other young unsuspecting innocents have their health permanently damaged . . . & with all the human cost to families, etc.

All ingredients were considered hazardous***:  nitrogen, phosphorus, 2-butoxyethanol *** / *** and laurel phosphate.  Why hasn't the company monitored the health of these workers long term as required by law?***

"Oh, Just wear the appropriate gear, " EPA & the company will say, goodness, could they or would they ever supply such for everyone?  ***

"At 18 years old my son was on one team who worked for VECO, contractor of Exxon, doing the bioremediation spraying of inipol EAP 22 in Valdez area.

"...felt tired all the time starting the end of his first semester of college.  Anemia from low red blood cells; although, doctors have eliminate causes (not dietary, not hereditary, not internal bleeding, not leukemia, nor lymphoma), so far they can't find the cause.

"(Most likely he has phosphorus poisoning or the solvent exposures... but he doesn't know that's that what it might be, so he didn't mention it to his doctors... or if he did, he didn't know what the components were) Could it be hemolytic anemia from overexposure to chemicals?

"He mentioned that the company drew blood with very large needles so as to not destroy whatever it was they were looking for.  To this day he has an aversion to having his blood drawn.  He doesn't know the results of the blood work that was done.

Call your own doctor for any & all records of blood-work -  Chart  ***

& Check your own red blood  cell counts

Have you seen the Material Safety Data Sheets just at your local bank?  It is a 3 ringed notebook that I saw at First National Bank of Alaska in the break room that is about 3 inches thick on every tidily thing you can think of including white-out. ***  Since the workplace for these guys was at sea, where was it posted for them?

I believe the MSDS on inipol EAP 22, though appearing to be serious enough was not complete, each ingredient has it's own MSDS, and with 2-butoxyethanol as one, which they just added to revamp an old formula ( Had to "polish" the rocks, you know, so added dry cleaning solvent & hid this ingredient from public view!),

the company who owned the contract (EXXON?) should have notified those exposed to it that they need to be concerned about respiratory problems, central nervous center damage, reproductive damage, liver damage (and many serious forms of cancer?)

But then, until it's use in August, 1989, the company said it didn't have any human test results.  I guarantee you that they do now, and could have more, if they were truth seekers. ***  Did EPA track this experiment as they said they would?

"Inipol Fellow" also ask your family if they've noticed a change in your personality due to neurotoxicity or damage to the central nervous system, etc ***
