Mrs. Jorgensen was born Dec. 9, 1943, in
Aliquippa, Pa. She graduated from Alquippa
High School in 1961.
She moved to Anchorage in 1963 and began
working for Safeway's Mountain View
store. She later transferred to the
University Center Safeway. In 1975, she
moved to Eagle River but continued
working for Safeway in Anchorage.
In 1983, she moved to Soldotna and
worked for Safeway when it first
opened the store there. She retired
in 1998 after 35 years.
Mrs. Jorgensen was a member of
Sterling Baptist Church. She enjoyed
garage saling, antiquing, bingo and
especially being with her family and
friends.
Her family said: "Above and beyond
everything, Judy was a devoted and
loving mother and wife. She was
kind-hearted, caring, sensitive and
always a softy to anyone in need.
Being very strong-willed and a
fighter, she was a dignified,
hardworking lady that was also
always interested in helping the not
so fortunate. She is no longer
suffering and is now at peace with
the Lord. She will be missed, loved
and will remain in our hearts
forever."
She was preceded in death by her
son, Daniel Jorgensen; parents,
Sylvester Lee and Mary Virginia
Baker; brother, Richard Baker;
father-in-law, Cliff Jorgensen;
aunts and uncles, Margaret and
Junior Warsing and Mary and Paul
Warsing; and cousin, Dick Warsing.
Mrs. Jorgensen is survived by her
husband of 26 years, Dennis
Jorgensen of Soldotna; son, Jared
Jorgensen of Soldotna;
mother-in-law, Onita Jorgensen of
Eau Claire, Wis.; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Curt
Dahl of Eagle River and Sandra and
Gary D'Alessandirs of Aliquippa;
brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
David and Cindy Baker of Aliquippa;
sister-in-law, Travis Baker of
Sterling; three brothers and
sisters-in-laws, Jerry and Karen
Jorgensen of Eau Claire, Keith and
Carol of Eau Claire, and Dan and
Peace Jorgensen of Danville, Calif.;
and many other relatives.
