At the fire/police station at the Valdez airport, the flight crew who brought in the first 'batch' of Corexit *, called back to Texas to let Exxon know they arrived safely.

The officer commented that they were 'white as a sheet...' concerned about arriving safely in Valdez with the 'deadly' product.

"They had been warned to throw out any containers that leaked; they were told to land as soon as possible if any Corexit spilled in the plane...that their very lives were at stake," states the eye-witness to their relief at arriving in Valdez about July, 1989 

(or earlier? One teamster foreman says that this was here before the MSDS even came out ... they were told it was experimental & he had his men suit up in rain gear & get blood tested before and after every shift that moved the chemicals on the dock.)

Corexit had no MSDS accompanying this shipment.  It was just created by Exxon in hopes of having a 'money-maker' if it were to appear, at least, to clean up the oil spill from the oil-soiled beaches. (?)

"Later, after a complaint had been filed with the airport authorities, the Corexit was moved from the airport under the cover of darkness to an undisclosed location," per comments of the officer who voiced the complaint & who observed the results.

- but they want widespread permitting approval from EPA & other agencies.
