Some often asked Questions Check-in
- 2 pm - 6 pm is preferred
We ask
for 5 minutes of your time when you first arrive in Valdez to check you in and
give you your house and room keys.
We can visit later if you are in a hurry.
However, guests must check in by 9 pm, or there is a surcharge of
$35 and regular 2007 rates apply plus tax on all rooms during stay.
Seldom can we take arrivals after 9 pm. But what
if I don't like my room?
Arrive by 6 pm & if the room is not what you expected or what
you need, you are free to go elsewhere - No penalty whatsoever.
We may even have another room or rental to offer.
After 6 pm, however, we have to charge 50% of the first night's
booking as there will be little probability of re-renting the room that
night. Same would be true for after 6 pm cancellations - even if
weather related or transportation issues beyond your control. First
question asked us is, "Where
to eat?" For one
of your meals you should consider Mike's Pizza Palace on
Harbor Drive - Nice restaurant atmosphere, Good Food selections,
including baked Halibut in a butter sauce, reasonably priced food (for
Alaska) Second
question, Where
to do Laundry? Best
place is behind the "Capt Joe's' where people buy gas. If we
need a ride? We
have a good taxi service; call
835-2500 Base
price is $10 for someplace in town What's the weather going to be like tomorrow? We have a 24 hour federal weather service in town. Call 835-4505 or watch the weather channel on Channel 25 Breakfast
DISHES? When you are done eating breakfast, please just
stack the dishes in the sink. We prefer to take care of them Check
Out? We
need to have guests check out by 11am as
we can't do our work while guest are still in the house; and
we have to get ready for the next guests. We
can hold bags in the workroom; If
there is need to arrange a late check out, it
is $35 add on fee per each 2 hours add on. Kitchen
Use? Yes,
minor cooking privileges are included with your stay, full
meals at lunch or dinner, however, are an add on fee of $25 per day per
group. Please leave the
kitchen as you found it, however. Quiet
time is between 10pm and 6am.
If you come and go during these hours, please be considerate of
other quests. No cooking or
showering or TV in the living room (unless the sound is turned down
low). Speak softly in the living room then, as a guest may be sleeping
downstairs. Smoking outside only; no pets, please I want my
room warmer? Please get a blanket from your
closet shelf or the hallway. DO NOT turn
the thermostat up as it will warm the entire floor, and those in the
next bedroom will be too warm.... and have to listen to the house
furnace click on & off unnecessarily Some often asked Questions of Tourists and Guests at Blessing House BnB, Valdez, Alaska 99686 8-21-07 |
